A 7-inch inseam is the length that suits most runners — long enough to stay decent on the start line, short enough that it never catches the top of the knee on a stride out. The shell is a lightweight four-way stretch woven that sheds sweat fast and dries between sessions, and side splits at the hem keep the leg opening from binding at pace. Both hip pockets are zipped and deep enough to hold a phone without it swinging, and the elastic waistband has an internal drawcord so it stays put once you have set it. Mesh panels sit where the heat builds.
Our kit runs true to size in S–XXL. Size up if you want a looser fit or plan to layer over a base layer; size down on the compression shorts if you want them to hold firmer.
