Pegasus 42
₹12,995 · choose a size
The Pegasus 42 is the biggest change to the line in years — out go the separate forefoot and heel Air Zoom units, in comes a single curved, full-length airbag that Nike says returns 15% more energy than the 41. ReactX foam still wraps it for the familiar springy-but-planted ride, and the fit finally gets more room through the forefoot and toe box after several versions of runners asking for it. Still the shoe to reach for when you just want to run and not think about it.
First Stride lists EU sizing as the primary scale, with UK equivalents on each size button. Running shoes should have a thumb's width of room at the toe — if you are between sizes, take the larger one. Wide feet should size up half in Asics and Nike.

Midsole foam
Nike Pegasus 42: Pegasus 42 pairs ReactX foam with a curved Air Zoom unit for Nike's signature responsive-but-protective ride at a steep 14mm drop.
Li-Ning Red Hare 9 Pro: Red Hare 9 Pro's beaded PEBA foam skips the air unit entirely, running a flatter 8mm drop for a more ground-connected feel.
Weight
Nike Pegasus 42: Pegasus 42's air unit adds a little heft to its otherwise redesigned mesh build.
Li-Ning Red Hare 9 Pro: Red Hare 9 Pro undercuts it by 38g, helped by a simpler foam-only midsole with no encapsulated air pod to carry.
Outsole
Nike Pegasus 42: Pegasus 42's three-zone layout concentrates rubber where wear is highest.
Li-Ning Red Hare 9 Pro: Red Hare 9 Pro's GCR compound covers more evenly across the sole.
